Reiki

All living things carry life force energy. It flows in and around us, connecting us to each other and to something greater. Reiki is the gentle, powerful art of working with that energy to help bring the body, mind, and spirit back into balance.

I’m a Reiki Master Practitioner in the Reiki Method of Natural Healing, and this practice has been a gift in my own life. It’s taught me how to ground myself when I feel untethered. It’s shown me the power of stillness, the wisdom of the chakras, and the grace that comes when we realign with our higher selves. When I veer off course (because we all do), Reiki centres me back to myself.

The Grounding Place reiki table and room

Before every session, I take time to prepare not just physically, but energetically. I ground myself by feeling the roots of a tree extending deep into the earth beneath me. I envision white or gold light pouring from the crown of my head all the way down through my body.

I say a quiet prayer to the angels and spirit guides, asking them to join me and to protect me from absorbing anything that isn’t mine. I remind myself that I am not the power; I am just the conduit.

During sessions, I use a few tools to support the flow of energy. One of my favorites is my pendulum. I use it to assess and balance your chakras. When the pendulum moves in a certain way above each energy center, it gives insight into where there may be blockages or imbalances. It’s subtle but powerful. I also love incorporating singing bowls and other sound modalities because their vibrations help deepen the energetic alignment and create a soothing, meditative space.

Tarot and angel decks

All angel and tarot reading proceeds go to the SPCA to raise money for dog beds.

When our energies connect during a session, your nervous system begins to shift from sympathetic (fight or flight) into parasympathetic (rest and restore). Stress hormones like cortisol begin to settle. Your mood lifts. Healing begins. Sometimes deeply, sometimes quietly, but always meaningfully.

And the beautiful thing? Reiki doesn’t just help one person at a time. Every time someone heals, it ripples out into the collective. When one person raises their vibration, it gently lifts the energy around them. That’s the kind of change I believe in. That’s the work we’re doing—together.

Tune into your energy

Reiki is a quiet practice with a powerful impact. It’s about creating space—to rest, to reconnect, to feel more like you.
